I am looking at forming a team for documenting the Modules Team and the Core Teams changes in the wiki and to go through the forum and find discussion topics to turn help sheets and guidances manuals.

I am looking for anyone with a Technical Writing background that wants to contribute to XOOPS under my team management to document the XOOPS Core, XOOPS Modules & XOOPS Hacks.

Part of what makes a good product is the team behind explaining how to use it.. XOOPS is no exception. With most books on XOOPS in other languages apart from English there is a need for documenting to be concise and easy to form.

Ideally I am looking for a team of 10 people.. Both male and female and the role comes with training and support references material.. I am looking to change my role at XOOPS from the core under-write to documentation manager.

IF you don't have 8 - 15 hours a fortnight to dedicate to documenting XOOPS then please do not apply, there are no age restrictions and some young guns would be good.

I have noticed with the younger crowd here at XOOPS they feel that there age is a hindrance on getting involved, if you are between the ages of 16 to 65 these are ideal ages to sign up and get motivated -- so please write me an email attach your resume if you have one (This is voluntary/charity role) and send it to your senior XOOPS Developer.

You need to have at least a written language in english (other languages desirable for translating) and need to have medium to advance technical writing skills.

We are looking for best videos presenting XOOPS, and focusing especially on 2.5 features.

We'll have two categories:

1) Education, focusing on XOOPS 2.5

For example:

a) In Spanish (by Uskola 2)

b) In English (by Vamptrix)

c) In English (by Mamba)

but as you can see, they are just "quick and dirty" productions, and now we're looking for more polished and more fun, so be creative

2) Marketing/Promotion

For example:

a) XOOPS Promo by SailJapan

b) XOOPS Trailer Draft by Mamba

Of course, they could be focusing on XOOPS in general, and not only on 2.5 features.

All of them could be a regular video recording, or a video presentation (e.g. made in PowerPoint or another presentation package) and then converted into a Video that we could post on YouTube. It's up to you....

So let your creativity juices flowing...

In appreciation of his vast contributions to XOOPS and saddened by his untimely death, the XOOPS Council decided to induct Marcello Brandao into XOOPS Hall of Fame.

May he be always remembered among his XOOPS familiy!

The TS-My Startup Page module allows an administrator to specify which module is shown at startup for a specific group after login or for anonymous users, i.e. you can now redirect specific groups of users to a part of your site that suits them with an easy to use administration interface.

This version is a small update to the original 0.3 version.

Changes in this version include:
- Updated to be compatible with XOOPS 2.4.x
- Bugfix relating to user being member of several groups
- Possibility to update start order

Read the enclosed installation instructions in install.txt. Please note that this module requires you to add a line to the include/checklogin.php page. A regular update of the module is possible by copying over the old files and updating the module.

4 Seasons Theme is a 2 columns fixed width theme for all versions of XOOPS and has been tested with few popular modules .

It has 4 distinctive styles representing the 4 seasons, styles can be switched by clicking on one of the 4 small buttons located on top of the left column, with a minimum of work one should be able to split the theme in 4 distinctive themes and use each one on a different site (further support can be requested in the forum).

The theme was optimized for all modern browsers meaning that it WON'T work on IE6 or earlier versions
Theme is W3C XHTML compliant and CSS level 2.1 validated.



It was released as commercial some time ago but as theme reached its quota I have decided to distribute it Free. However you are not allowed to redistribute it via download sites unless permission was given

It's been eight months since the TDM (Team Development Module) has been created, so it's time to make a small summary about the progress of our activities.

Thank you to everyone who made their bug report and thank you for the feedback and development ideas.

With our deepest sorrow we have to announce today that we lost two days ago one of our dearest XOOPS friends and supporters, and one of our most innovative developers: Marcello Brando (suico), due to a cancer.

Marcello was a Software Engineering and Computer Sciences expert and he was one of great XOOPS-ers who was helping here as well as on XoopsTotal and XOOPS Parana.

That's what he said once about himself:

His 352 postings in our forum brought a lot benefits to the community, and Marcello always participated and tried to find solutions for our questions and suggestions.

He focused his efforts on creating a Social Network module for XOOPS. It was a big dream, but achieving it wasn't a mission impossible to a such intelligent man! The dream did come true and Xoopsers around the world could built their own social network by using Yogurt Social Network , the great module of Marcello Brandao.

Yogurt Social Network was greatly appreciated by xoopsers and it was nice to see that it was selected by VivaLogo to Top 40 Free Downloadable Open Source Social Networking Software and Marcello has been chosen to be the winner of our first XOOPS Innovation Award .

Marcello put his creativity to work with his another innovative module Nivelamento: a module for the e-tutoring area. In his first release it allowed students to make exams online.

He took a sabbatical from XOOPS because he had to focus on his Master Degree, but he stayed in touch with us and planned to come back to contribute to XOOPS after his graduation.

Marcello made a difference in the world of XOOPS, he was loved by everyone - frank, deep, sincere and respectful, and despite only few years of being with XOOPS, he affected us all and left behind a legacy of great modules and hacks, and an example of a really great person.
